My name is Chris Axelrad. I specialize in women's health issues using a natural, holistic approach.
I am an Acupuncturist and Herbalist licensed by the Texas Medical Board. I am also
certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in Acupuncture, Chinese
Herbal Medicine, and Chinese Bodywork. Additionally,
I am a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, a specialty board dedicated to integrative care for
women and couples experiencing reproductive issues. I have done extensive studies not only in Traditional Chinese
Medicine, but also Western endocrinology (the study of hormones), nutrition, mind-body disciplines, and interpretation of lab results.
My father and brother are both Urologists (MDs), and I take pride in being from a family steeped in medical tradition.
My clinic is a tranquil, peaceful environment
where you will feel comfortable. I take very seriously my commitment to each of my patients, and this will be no different for you.

model of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and we will also use laboratory test results when necessary.

herbal medicine, nutritional support, acupuncture, and mind-body exercises, all customized to your specific needs with one goal in mind -- to support the

I am so grateful I came to visit Chris and give acupuncture a try. My husband and I had been trying to
start a family for nine months and did not seem to have any luck. My menstrual cycles were
exceptionally long and painful. I also was under a great deal of stress at my job. Chris was a
great listener and very helpful to me in numerous ways. After four months of working with
Chris, I became pregnant and am now expecting a little girl in less than 6 weeks!!

My husband and I had been trying to conceive for nearly 18 months. Because I was older than 35,
my OB-GYN wanted us to begin testing for possible infertility after six months, but we spread
it out a little bit longer. After completing blood tests, HSG and semen analysis, nothing indicated why
we had not been successful. I am not exactly sure how long I met with Chris, but I don't think it was more than an
entire cycle, but I got pregnant. We did that second IUI but I honestly believe it was done too

I came to Chris for acupuncture treatments in November 2006, in preparation for my first IVF cycle

due in part to the acupuncture treatments and stress relief techniques from the Axelrad Clinic of
Chinese Medicine. I highly recommend him as a very knowledgeable acupuncturist who
specializes in the realm of infertility, and who takes a personal interest in your
determination to overcome infertility.
